JUPITER BRUTUS

On October 10, 2008, we took Jupiter in to have a TPLO surgery which is the equivalent to an ACL surgery in a human. My husband dropped him off that morning at All Pet Complex. The vet called us after Jupiter's x-rays and said he had some bad news that Jupiter's right hip has been out of socket (no idea on how long), his left hip was in stage 2 of hip dysphasia, and there was his patella wasn't in the right place. So instead of 1 surgery Jupiter needed 4 surgeries which they said he probably wouldn't live through or have a high quality of life after so we could come pick him up after he woke up and we would work on a pain management plan and we could keep Jupiter for about 3-6 more months. As you can imagine we were devastated!!! About 2 hours later the Vet called with yet more bad news! While the vet was out to lunch Jupiter's left hip went out of socket. The vet said we should come down and discuss the options but at this point the most humane thing we could do is to put him down. Jupiter was pretty much crippled, and he was 175 lbs, and in so much pain we made a decision to let him go. It was a very hard decision and we have missed him so very much. Home just hasn't been the same without him on the other side of the door (blocking it of coarse). Jupiter was an amazing dog and was a wonderful part of this family. Even the vet cried with us, and fell in love with Jupiter that day. Here are a few of the last pictures of our puppy Jupiter Brutus.

SEE SPOT WALK!!

We had so much fun taking the dogs to this~ It is really fun to go and meet new dog friends. It is walk that is sponsored by the Idaho Humane Society. We walk around downtown and it is the biggest dog walk ever! Yoda, Laya and Jupiter had lot of fun. Jupiter knee was really bothering him before the end of the walk so we had to take it really slow. We met lots of new people and also the Vet that we are going to take Jupiter to for his knee surgery at. He was really nice and wonderful!! It was suppose to be a really rainy day so we bought matching raincoats for the girls! It ended up being too hot by the end of the walk! But they were so cute, and they had a lot of fun! By the time we got home all 3 of the dogs were completely tired out!! It was really funny!

Where has the time gone???

So here I am the day before Thanksgiving and I am realizing how much time has gone by! I mean I swear yesterday was the end of September! So I will be catching you up in our next few post with pictures and all that kind of good stuff. We lost Jupiter October 10th and that was very devastating to our little family . We took him if for a surgery on his knee that day and found out he was broken beyond repair and by the end of the day he wasn't even able to come home with us because he couldn't walk! So we had to put him down at only 23 months old. We have a prospect of a new St. Bernard puppy in the future. We are hoping the new puppy can help fill the LARGE hole in our hearts that Jupiter left!

First Blog.

This is my first blog. Jamie and I are coming up on our 1 year anniversary. This last year has gone by so fast it has been crazy! We were married on September 29, 2007. It is a day that is still a little hazy in my mind, but I have pictures to prove it happened. My husband before we got married had a 1 year old St. Bernard named Jupiter that I have adopted as my own (and will be 2 in October!!). Then in February we decided to extend our home our newest family member Yoda and Laya. They are 6 yr old and 5 yr old sisters pugs. They have really added to our family dynamic.  I really hope this blog will help me stay in touch with my family and friends that live far away!
